Be a part of the Spectacle

This is your chance to perform inside one of Scranton’s most extraordinary buildings, as part of a night designed to surprise guests at every turn.

On Saturday, November 21, the Scranton Cultural Center will become Spectacle: an immersive evening of music, movement, remarkable characters, and unexpected entertainment. Performers from across the region will bring the show to life, from featured moments onstage to encounters guests never saw coming. Together, we’ll give back to a venue that has given generations of artists a stage, while raising funds for its educational programs.

We're Looking For

Character actors...

who can charm a room, think on their feet, and make guests feel part of the show. We’ll provide the structure and some lines, but your charisma, improvisation, and ability to keep the energy moving will make the character your own.

Dancers...

both individuals and established groups, for can-can, showgirl, and cabaret-inspired performances.

Singers and vocal acts...

of all kinds, from solo performers to duos and groups.

Flair bartenders...

who can turn bottle work into a show.

Have a peculiar talent or an unexpected way of entertaining a crowd? We want to hear about it. Some opportunities are volunteer roles, while select featured and specialty roles include a stipend. Details for each role will be shared before you commit. All performers must be 18 years of age or older.

Submit your application and short video by Wednesday, October 14. Selected performers will be invited to an in-person callback.

Show Us What You Do

Put your name at the table.

Please submit a video of no more than two minutes. A phone recording is perfect. We’re looking for your personality and performance ability, so there’s no need for a costume, elaborate setup, or polished edit.

Start by telling us your name and what you’d like to be considered for. Then show us your talent:

Character performers: Imagine the audience is waiting for the next act, but it’s running late. You have about 45 seconds to keep them entertained. Speak to us as though we’re the crowd. Use your own words and make a choice about who you are.

Dancers: Show 45–60 seconds of movement or choreography, filmed so we can see your full body. Groups may submit one video together.

Singers: Share 45–60 seconds of a live vocal performance. Soloists and groups are welcome; accompaniment is optional.

Flair bartenders: Show up to 60 seconds of safe bottle work

Specialty performers: Show us a short sample of your act. If it cannot be demonstrated safely in this setting, share existing performance footage and briefly describe what you would bring to Spectacle.

If you’re interested in more than one category, you may show more than one skill within the two-minute limit.
